One of the places featured in 8 magazine’s 4 th issue was the Bright Christmas in Palo. It’s the time of year when every house in town participates in a war against electricity, by wrapping their homes, fences, trees, and even bushes with Christmas lights.
This event started in the early 90s when the Local Government of Palo hosted yearly competitions on lighted decorations. And up until now, even when there’s no prize at all, the residents of Palo would still decorate their houses with beautiful Christmas lights. Except for last December 2010 when the Mayor of Palo, Hon. Remedios L. Petilla revived the competition with even bigger prizes at stake so that more residents will be encouraged to participate in decorating their houses and make the municipality of Palo a town full of Christmas lights.
